So, is gold pewter?

Paint code is U382 E, appearance is what I'd call champagne or light gold metallic.

Color from one of the online touch-up places says pewter, displayed sample looks very silver, without even a hint of goldishness. Other sites call it pewter, but no sample displayed.

Is this a repaint job, or did GM just look at a very non-representative sample of pewter when they were naming this color, and the touch-up paint guys use something that looks more like 99% of actual pewter for their sample?

what year is the truck? I can check on the code for you..

the code your showing comes back as pewter Metallic..your truck may have been resprayed, but without seeing it only the truck would know lOL.. There are ways of telling if its been resprayed.. Look for tape lines in door jambs, overspray on door rubber, plenty of places on the truck will tell repainting..

1999, LS, 4 door. Looks to me like it's more gold than mikeinwi's, but that may be his lighting and/or my monitor. Closer to bandidolenny's, but a bit lighter.

You can see my photo gallery, same paint code, Light Pewter Metallic. Can you post a pic of yours?

That's probably it, then. Just wanted to make sure, since the sample on the touch-up website looked nothing like the actual color.

If the weather will cooperate; it's been rainy lately during the day, and the sodium vapor lighting at night is useless for color rendition. :)

The problem with pewter is it looks different depending on different light conditions. It also could have faded if it's sat outside most of it's life.

Well, finally got it back from the mechanic and decided to just go ahead and try some Dupli-Color pewter: perfect match.

Still tempted to get the hood repainted and put a rock guard on it, though. It's got a lot of chips up there.
