Two tone with bed liner

I want to do black on bottom with my blue on top but do I do the bumpers the door jams the bottom of the lift gate I really want to get inside the wheel wells front and back I have some surface rust behind the doors and on the rockers seems like these are kinda prone to rust in those areas from what I have seen with that rust I want to sand it down and hit it with rust inhibitor or primer or will the bed liner do that for me I want to follow the body lines as best as possible just want to make her tougher but still look damn good let me know what ya think...

mine might help you decide...check thru my albums.
my ride is blue with the bedliner on the bottom all the way around.

your paint prep plans sound fine to me.

Hey warthog did you by any chance do your door jams or not and what about the undercarraige you mess with any of that mines almost rust free but living in nebraska its only a matter of time before more problems poke their ugly little heads out

My truck is red but I have a bunch of pics in my build thread of when I did mine. I did the door jambs as well but just up to the point where I put it on the outside. I just recently sprayed my frame with the Duplicolor spray on liner just to clean it up a bit. I used Monstaliner for the rest though and I love it. I get compliments all the time on it!

I spent a hour reading your build thread one of the best I have came across as far as detail

Thanks man!! I have learned a ton from other members on here so I figure thats my small way of giving back to them and everyone else on here.

My wifes old 4runner was dark blue and when we (she, I layed the tape lines and she did the labor. I try to get her involved in as much of her own repairs/additions as possible usually succeeding) bedlined the bottom half, jambs and everything got done. You open the door or gate and everything flowed correctly. It had chrome bumpers though so they were left alone (besides the trim on the bottom half of the front one)

Not to flaunt a Toyota around here (be happy, it's a beer can by now anyway) but I think it blends nicely on a dark blue

Used Herculiner brand and it held up nicely, scraped a couple legs up (not blood drawling but reminded you to lift your leg) sliding in and out of the truck and was only re-done at 1 point due to a tailgate replacement and some additional bodywork that needed done

Ha if I could even get her to pump her own gas it would make me happy but I really. Think that I'm. Gonna us e that monstaliner that rex used...
