Since I have more spare parts than common sense it seems, I may be interested in picking this up if the price is right... what should I be looking for in terms of damage beyond the doors, rocker panel and running board? Should I be able to visibly tell if the pillar between the doors is bent?

Thanks

The best way to tell if the B-pillar is bent is to mount new/good doors, but if you're looking at buying it you probably won't be able to do that before the purchase.

Visually, you will first want to check for cracks in the paint or bubbled paint. That would be a dead giveaway that the metal has moved.

You could put a long straight edge across the rear door hinges and measure in from the straight edge to the rocker box as well as to the roof rail. Repeat the measurement on the undamaged passenger side and compare. If both measurements come out the same, then it is unlikely that the B-pillar has been pushed in.

To check if the B-pillar has been pushed back, you can measure from the front door hinges back to the rear door hinges on both sides and compare.

You can also check the rocker to frame measurements side to side in a number of spots to see if there is any differences along the rocker.

Thanks!

No problem! Looks like a fairly nice GMT360 from the outside other than the damage. Hopefully it's just the doors and is easy to fix!

When you are taking measurements, try to be as consistent as possible using sharp bends as your reference points so that you can repeat the positioning on the opposite side.

That rocker definitely looks pushed in... and it probably pulled the B pillar and rear wheel arch in with it...

A decade in the salvage car industry teaches you to look at things like that lol

I imagine you've seen a thing or two for sure! I might end up just letting this one go. I've still got enough projects around!!

Thanks for the input guys!!
