Default 01 blazer s10 conversion

Hello. I am new to the Forum and not sure if I have the right place. I am interested in converting to a carburetor and I'm sure this has been discussed many times. I have a 49 Plymouth that a guy sat on a 2001 s10 chassis & then passed away about 5yrs. ago & car has been sitting, mostly completed, except wires all over the place & tags have rotted away, so I have a big COMPUTER mess on my hands....Thanks

Well I'm sure we can get you were you need to be. Is the engine and computer the s10? And only body is Plymouth? And what is the issue really? Are you looking for diagrams? And which ones?

edit :

is it specifically converting the efi to carb? Some one will chim in on that. But I think I've heard it's not the easiest?

Well, I'm just not sure what to do. I hate carb. engines and the smell, but it has been sitting for 5 yrs and all the tagged wires
, have since been eroded. I would prefer to keep it, but I just don't know if I could do the computer thing. It is an old car on a modern chassis, and I'm sure that would have worked out fine, except all those years have passed & I'm sure I would have to change Injectors and "Spider", and a lot of other parts after I figgered the wires out ???

I would suggest to start by finding out about the engine and the ECU. As it must be more or less accessible it should be easy enough to find the correct electrical wiring diagrams once you know what engine and ECU have been paired. There are not so many wires required.

Yes, that is what I would like to do, just keep the stuff that makes it run, I don't need VATS, ABS, Airbags, etc. and only a few things will make it not run: fuel pump, temp sender, crank position, etc. I would like to keep it all and use s10 gauges, speedo and tach. all the stuff is there, wires to headlites, horn, backuplites, dome lite, guess I could just roll all this stuff up in a ball & keep it ?? I'm trying to find someone to "disable" some of the stuff in my ECU, but so far no luck...thanks for your help, Brownie

All you need to make the engine run is a distributor, a coil, an intake manifold, and a carb. Unfortunately most of it is pretty pricey. I would recommend:

Are you aware that the computer runs the transmission and gauges on a 2001. You will have to use it for the trans and gauges, or replace the trans with earlier one and gauges with aftermarket (or get a stand alone electronic trans controller).

Probably why this project originally didn't get finished. It is doable to use the computer with your setup if it is re-programmed properly. Overall, it's not an easy install.

Here you go. Stand alone wiring harness to run your trans and engine only. Quite a ways down in the page. Get this and send your PCM off for programming to run without all the extra stuff and you're golden.

Hi Les. Thanks a lot for the info. I sent my Computer to PCM of NC and they are taking out the stuff that I don't need. I am going to try to keep the FI and stuff that Detroit has used for the last 40 or so years. I really "hate" to put a carb on it, but I understand that stuff, I mean I'm a guy that still has a Flip-Phone...Thanks, Brownie
