1st mods on a 2001 GMC Jimmy

Hey y'all. I fixed the radiator on the Jimmy and now moving towards making it move a bit better. I swapped out the oem air filter and put in an amsoil absolute efficiency air filter since I am a dealer and decided to partake in my own supply lol. The response was surprisingly good. A bit of improvement in response and air flow. Amsoil has often taken on k & n and the like for having filters that allow more particles in the engine. This of course is all open to debate, but for me it did really well and I didnt have to compromise on the air box being removed. I also changed the pcv valve, t stat and radiator cap after the radiator swap. All feels good. Then for a little growl, I removed the oem muffler and put a flowmaster 40 series muffler on their and she sounds nice and deep, same stock piping except with a tip. Any other ideas to make the 4.3 Vortec move a little more? I swear it feels like I have my pedal to the floor just trying to make it move quicker lol.

The best bang for your buck mod is to get your pcm tuned. I used blackbear performance, it was night and day. There is also wheatley,nelson.wait4me,pcm4less. I choose BB, all the full size gm guys swear by him and it was well worth the money.

Interesting, whats their turn around time? Do you have a contact number? Also, do they make underdrives for the Jimmy?

Check out there website, blackbearperformance.com. I would suggest making sure that you don't have any underlining issues that cause a lack of power. I did a complete tuneup, cap, rotor, wires, plugs. I also cleaned the maf, egr and throttle body and checked my o2 sensors to make sure they aren't getting lazy. After knowing that everything was as good as it can be I ordered the tune and it really woke up the 4.3.

Justin is pretty busy but he still has fast turn over times.
