2001 ZR2 4.3-5.7 swap

OK folks, I'm doing a 4.3 to 5.7 swap in my 2001 Blazer. Have taken suggestions from ZR2 Mike's, though not very complete, have managed to muddle my way through most of it. Found that the original radiator fits nicely in the front frame, but am presently stuck as to the fan set up. Also tig welded into the exhaust manifold the egr fitting so am able to hook up the stock egr. All suggestions greatly appreciated.

If you moved your rad to the forward position you should have plenty of room for any setup you want, even stock setup.

Both my 5.7 and 5.3 swaps, still using stock rad. I cut my core support to push the rad into it and I run a taurus e fan, with bout 1/2" or so clearance.

Got an e fan from the salvage yard, same as the taurus, but from a t-bird, just seems to be a tad too tight. I'm still running the external oil filter which is mounted under the core support and the fan housing seems to be a little too high.

You may need to snap some pictures. Either your motor mounts have motor alot further ahead then it needs to be or the rad isnt sunk in enough. It is and will be tight. the taurus fan motor will be offset from the water pump snout, just enough. Worse comes to worse, there is enough material on the taurus fan, to trim away and still not have have fan contact the rad. I didnt have to though.

This is why i dont do build threads cuz im horrible at taking pictures. Best i can find though.

Mounts are in their proper position, bell housing is bolted up. I think where my problem is, is the external oil filter. Will get back into it first thing in the a.m. Thanks Skotti for the picts
