B&M question
I have a 95 4x4 blazer with the 4 speed auto trans with overdrive and I was wondering what kind of transmission it is. I want to get one of those B&M shifters for automatic vehicals but I don't kno if it would work. ( I am willing to do some custom work) They are made for center consal auto shifts and they are engages by a cable. So I was also wondering if I could run a cable from the transmission shift lever to the shifter? I want to loose the standard blazer column shift and use the b&m one. (Sorry its kind of hard to explain.)
Here is a link to one that is one ebay so you can get a little better idea, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-M-8...37243211QQrdZ1 |
RE: B&M question
You have a 4L60E transmission (updated version of the 700R4).
So you want to go from your column shifter to a floor shifter? Hmm... What are you going to do with the column shifter? |
RE: B&M question
Ok thanks, yeah I want the auto shifter on the floor, I want to remove the one on the column somehow
Also I would need to find one with an over drive. |
RE: B&M question
Just kinda curious, why not go with the factory floor shifter option. Youcan pull the parts out of a bone yard and install it. If i remember dabber did a write up on how to do it. Granted the B&M looks cool but if you were wanting something that matches the rest of your truck that would be the way to go.

RE: B&M question
Their are no junk yards around here that are willing to part out things like that, (don't ask me why) they only sell exterior parts and anyway, I like the look of those b&m ones. I found one at my autozone here and it is a hurst shifter that would work perfect plus it really isn't that hard to install. The hardest part is going to take out the column shifter.
