Body Lift Questions - '01 Blazer S10 Zr2
I am looking to put about a two inch body lift on my blazer. is there any modifications that i will have to make to anything such as the steering? If so, is it worth the time/money? Thanks.

A handful, as in very, very few had to make mods to the firewall when installing a body lift on a ZR2. All the mod entails is elongating the hole in the firewall, pretty simple.
Is it worth it? Depends on what you plan on doing afterwards. If you are wanting to put bigger tires on for greater clearance while offroad, yes, it is worth it. If you are just going for the cool factor, then I'd say no. Anything you do to make your vehicle more offroad worthy will hurt the onroad manners, particularly in the mpg area. Sometimes I regret putting the body lift on mine as it ends up costing more in the long run with an increase in the price of tires and less mpg's. But when I'm offroad I am so glad I did it and wonder why it took me so many years to do it. |
Okay sounds good, thanks for the answer. I think this will be a summer project!

The body will go up but what will the bumpers do?

I used the BDS kit and it came with new brackets for the front and rear bumpers.

The Performance Accessories kit comes with relocation brackets for the front bumper, and you modify the rear factory brackets (drill 1 hole) to relocate the rear bumper. Super easy to do.

Once knew a guy in high school, we were on the track team together, his name was Seymore Frame.
