wow all of this has been really helpful lol i love this forum thanks guys. i might go with the spectre considering its still not very expensive and i might as well not get the cheapest one i can find, lol.. a few more things though, what am i going to notice right away after putting a cai on, like sound, performance, acceleration, etc. wise? and are there any drawbacks to a cai? and will all my sensors and whatnot still function properly? sorry if im in need of a lot of help i just dont want to hurt my blaze and am nervous to change things lol

? timing lost? wat do u mean? and i only cut the box on the side thats not near the engine, so im still getting cold dense air flowing in, And a lot more than the stock little air hole

On OBDII vehicles at least, the hotter the intake air temp, the more it backs off ignition timing since hot air is more susceptible to pinging.

^^ Moving the IAT sensor and insulating the airbox reduced my IAT temps and you can see that timing at idle is advanced a bit.

You should be able to hear the CAI up to about 3000rpm is what I hear most people say. Generally the whole engine will feel a tad more peppy since it doesn't have to pull as hard to bring air in.

Puddles splashing on the hood won't hydrolock it. You'd only have problems crossing rivers where the water comes up a good bit.

ah now i no watcha mean, but yea im drawing in air from the cooler side, so on uncut parts of the box acts like a heat shield like on a real CAI lol, but my engine roars very deep now, and u can feel a big difference in hp, When i full throttled it one day one of my friends asked if i had a v8 lol
