carb 350 & 700r4 swap for 2000 4x4 4door

I am sorry in advance because I know there is a wealth of information out there on the subject, but I have been looking for weeks and cannot find anything specific to what I'm planning for my build, just parts and pieces, but mostly just stuff for the 1st gen s10 blazers which I'm not sure how similar they are to my 2000, in this respect.

I have a 2000 4 door 4x4 blazer with the 4.3. I am trading some items and work for my buddy's carbed 350 and 700r4 trans that he had in a 1998 Silverado. I want to put this motor and trans in my truck, but I am unsure of what modifications will be necessary in order to get the motor and trans in and keep my 4 wheel drive functional and also what will need to be modified to get it to fit in correctly.

Here are my main questions:

Will I need to get a different oil pan?
Does the front diff get in the way of anything?
Does the steering get in the way?
Any special parts other than headers and motor mounts?
What do I need to make the 700r4 work?

I plan to use this truck often but not abuse. I do go offroading and drive it daily, but no drag racing or anything like that. That's what the other car is for.

Thank you guys for any info and if you want to post links to threads to save yourself the typing, I'd be happy to read through them. Back to looking for info.

yeah you do need a differnt pan, or modify the one you have. when i did my swap on a 95, none of the steering or anything else was in the way. youd be surprised how the 350 really isnt that much bigger, a 4.3 is just a v8 with two cylinders chopped off. one thing i had to do was smash the firewall back but that was because i wanted to run a mechanical fan, if you use electric you should be ok

cant remember if i had any other issues, i think i had to make a custom power steering line as the older pump had a different end then the newer truck.

Thanks for the PM and answering some questions. Engine swapping is a new thing to me so I'm trying to get as much info as possible before even attempting something like this. I really appreciate your help.
