I'm ready for hate comments, I've got an idea for a neat trail/everyday rig for my 1998 blazer, and was wanting opinions and thoughts for improvement or notifications that one of my ideas ain't so great. Remember this a 1998 LS 4 door with the 4.3 vortec
So body wise, was gonna chop the rear, ad a inner roll cage that would come out over the cargo area. The rear would have an optional cloth top. Where a swinging tire carrier would be a tool box would reside, and then the spare either on the rear end of that or on top of the roll cage over the cargo area. Then the original spare tire area would become room for either a fuel tank or i would chop the floor out to make a larger cargo area after adding a plate where the spare would stop. In one of my other post I was considering adding a jump seat to the empty space behind the wheel-well on the passenger side of the cargo area. Was also considering
Mechanically would ad an offset and lift kits(or just a lift kit with wheel spacers) to fit 32's or 33's, can't decide which. Then maybe even a manual tranny(SM465 or T5). When the motor dies I was considering one of these four engines, Dodge 4.7 Magnum, LM4 5.3 V8, LS2 6.0 V8, or the good old 350 V8 out of anywhere.
Last ideas where maybe tube bumpers and/or brush guards, under body (waterproof) light strips[so when it's to dark out you won't fall on your face cause you parked over the ditch. Light bars on both front and rear(not sure where, front maybe in the bumper or on the roof or on the hood or even in/behind the grill). Was gonna do a Humvee ish look for antennas of the rear for a CB set up and an antenna across from the normal radio's antenna for a HAM radio. And can't forget a winch off the front and adding tow hooks to the rear.
The terrains this may see would be sand, backwoods trail, minor rock crawling.

I don't know how to shrink the size of the image...

Sounds like an interesting idea. I'd hate to see such a clean ride be chopped up though! What you got now looks pretty. :)
