Does anyone have a HyperTech Max Energy programmer in their 4.3l blazer and does it actually work with a stock engine with only a K&N cold air intake? Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the reply Jamaroon. With what you just replied, I was on the HyperTech web site and it says about 6hp/22tq in gains if used with premium fuel. My question is: do you really feel a difference in the programmer or is it like one of those where you don't feel a diffrence just better MPG?

For myself, I don't really notice a difference in performance, but it may show if you were take it to the dyno. I didn't notice a difference in fuel economy, but I rarely get to tanks of gas with the same mileage. The K&N FIPK was unnoticeable(except sound) with or without the programmer. I bought it so I could reset my speedo for bigger tires...

I got mine primarily for the same reasons as Diaita; to correct for larger tires and different gears, and to adjust shift firmness. I didn't really notice any significant difference in power or economy other than with premium fuel. It is noticeably peppier with premium fuel. I didn't get better economy with the premium fuel but that's more likely due to the fact that I was enjoying the extra kick and had my foot on the skinny pedal more.

I bought it for adjusting the speedo and shift firmness too and figured any performance increase would be a bonus. I did notice a difference in power. After going to 33's it felt a bit more sluggish which is to be expected but after the programmer it felt more like it did with 31's.


I never used it to compare fuel mileage.
