How hard and will it work

My boss has a 99 Chevy Astro 2wd with 300,000km's on it. The tranny slips pretty hard 1st to 2nd when very hot
I have just picked up a 99 blazer 4x4 with 116,855 miles which is 188,000km's.
Would the motor and tranny from the blazer drop right into the Astro? As far as I know all that I would have to change is the tail stock for the tranny to work. Is there anything else?
Thanks Chris

I'm sure u will have a few other small things, such as exhaust manifolds..that's provided one has air injection & one does not...& if the astro van has dummy lights rather than gauges u will have to swap sending unit for the oil,& temp sensors....but like I said it should just be some small things...As the trans goes, I've been told the only difference would be the tails haft as u mentioned...I personally found a rebuilt trans for mine that came from a 4wd..... :icon_dance-disco: someone should be along , with some more knowledge on this I'm sure!:icon_steer:

Thank your for the reply 07nhbpsi.
We are more concerned about the transmission over anything. The longer we can make the van last the better. The engine runs really strong for 300k

U can try searching the forums for that info., as I'm almost certain I read it here somewhere!?:icon_dance-cpatch: Or it could've been on the s10 forums...????:icon_slapcry: I say it was here as I rarely go over there, & haven't spent much time there.
