Powertrax Lock Right Should I?
 

Heres What I Got:
2000 ZR2
Steel Front Diff- rebuilding from the ground up for new project
4.11 Gears-new

What I use it for:
Daily Driver
Weekend Offroad
alot of highway commuting


I would Like to get one and ready for the costs associated with it.
But is it worth it?

there is a thread on the zr2 nation that describes what all you'll need to put a locker in the front diff. you need to make sure all of your front suspension parts are in complete working order (moog stuff is recomended) you got the steel diff so thats good, and its recommended to switch to the manual transfer case, I forget what else you need but I looked into doing that, too much work for me...

Dont you need to go to 1ton idler and pitman arms?

you may be right about that too. and you should have a steering stabilizer.

i was planning on new moog parts. I have a pair of extra lower control arms that i was going to beef up around the bushing area and other parts
But also curious how dangerous it would be to drive in ice or snow in 4wd if had to.
My whole project is to strengthen and build a mild IFS 4wd.

I tried Zr2 nation but i do not want to spend 20 bucks on there membership but maybe i will to get more info.

well when you hit ice and put it in 4wd all 4 of your tires will spin, I'd just be careful, when going over very slick conditions

You will need to disconnect the axle actuator during the winter. locker in the front in slippery conditions is asking for an accident. You turn, and you will keep going straight.
