Question staright pipe with glass packs?

hey everyone i have a 96 jimmy and i am looking at running the exhaust pipes straight out of the manifolds with two glass packs and straight out the back. the reason i am looking at going this rout is because it wouldnt cost very much. will it be hard on the valves or anything? is this a bad idea?

I'm not sure where you live, but it is federal law that it is illegal to remove your catalytic converter. You won't be able pass emissions, and if you get pulled over, its a big ticket.

Otherwise, sweet deal.

He's in canada, so it may be ok for them. As far as emissions go, in the US, there's still a lot of states that don't check for them. I know TX and GA don't. Hell, GA doesn't even have a safety inspection!

ya im pretty sure its ok here in alberta. im not a hundred percent sure tho but the cops dont really check either. we no alot of mechanics that would prolly pass it if we gave em a bottle of jacks so ill prolly go that route with my exhaust then

I don't belive it will hurt your engine, but I'd check with a shop first.
