Default Rebuilt 2001 4.3 Long Block -

Wife says it's time for me to get rid of my rebuilt 2001 4.3 long block that has been sitting in a heavy plastic bag in a shipping container in my garage for nearly three years. It has the late model knock sensor mounting. I fully rebuilt it, spent over 2K on it, and had a bearing failure after 2000 miles due to a VERY blonde moment I had when priming the oil pump.

I think it's worth $999 + shipping from Indiana (if required), but if that's too much make me a serious offer. You can save a lot of money on a long block if you are capable and willing to do the work to put it back in service. It does come in a VERY nice fully enclosed hard plastic engine shipping container.

See posts 60 and #67 in this thread about the bearing failure I had:

Lot of photos and text about the engine earlier in this thread during the time when I rebuilt it.

Subsequently, after the bearing failure I was very tired of working on it in the middle of the Winter here in Indiana, and out of frustration installed a crate engine to get things running before the need for a 4WD was over.

So what it needs is disassembled and cleaned up, then put back together with a new crank kit.

When I went through it:
new cam bearings
new balance shaft rear bearing
new timing gears with upgraded tensioner
new camshaft
new roller lifters
new Speed Pro pistons 0.030 over
new moly rings
rods resized
line bore checked
crank reground
new main and rod bearings
heads surfaced
new exhaust valves
new valve springs
new valve guides
valves and seats ground
new oil pump
new frost plugs

There is no oil pan, intake manifold, or exhaust manifolds - long block only. The rest was switched over to my crate engine.
