I believe there is a clearance issue with long tubes on 4x4 blazers. Iirc the torsion bars are in the way. You may be able to fabricate or modify a set to clear if you're dead set on long tubes

The one that runs thru the firewall is for HVAC....

The one that runs thru the firewall is for HVAC. The unplugged one on the bottom goes to your vaccumn reservoir, and the one on the left goes to your upper intake.

I believe the only major clearance issue with v8 swapping a 4x4 is the oil pan, and I know they have oil pans available to solve that.

Valve seals are a common cause of the issue you're having. It may not need a whole valve valve job(although it never hurts to freshen them up)

There is really no reason to run anything above regular on the blazers. They aren't high enough compression engines to warrant the use of higher octane fuel, unless the engines are modified or tuned

Since you already have new springs, adding a leaf would be your next best idea. You could also do extended shackles, they're cheaper and easier, but you dont get the extra weight load like you would...
