Think about it this way, stock backspace is 6 inches on a 4x4. The lower that backspace number is, the farther they stick out. The more they stick out, the more they get into the fender when you turn.

Well check pick and pulls. I don't think it'll be as bad as you think if your looking at 30's or even 31's with a 3.42 and a g80 already. 31 inch tires are 2 inches over 235/75r15 on my 4x.
