Thanks for the quick reply, I've got my laptop with me in the garage with the truck right in front of me. I havn't taken off the support yet, but its looking like thats only way to get that pan off....

That's similar to what was happening to mine before I had to change out the fuel pump. It would sputter around and eventually stall unless I kept my foot on the gas... and then once my foot was off...

The saucer shaped thing is the EGR. On mine there are just 2 bolts holding it on there and then the vacuum line that controls it, probably the same on yours. If it's the egr's first time to be taken...

Best of luck with it. We had a fuel pump go out on a '91 s-10 pickup and it ended up just being easier to take the bed off and do the work that way.
