That switch mounts through a hole in a bracket...

That switch mounts through a hole in a bracket just above the brake light switch. It disconnects the Cruise Control module electrically and the vacuum motor to the cruise control. Double redundancy.

You may have a corroded connector internal to the starter solenoid. Remove the negative terminal from the battery and then remove the starter. You can then easily remove the solenoid from the starter...
