You have a leak you need to find, a shop can do it with a UV dye or you can buy a kit and do it yourself. Thats really the only way of finding out where the leak is.

You can buy a gauge and check it yourself yes. Get a gauge with numbers and no trigger. The gauges with the trigger tend to go bad quick and they will leak.

I don't know about no starter wire coming from the alt. That comes from the battery on mine.

There is 3 wires on each hear but only 2 O-ring connectors (2 wires in 1 o-ring).
