Couldn't he also try to jump start the truck, and if successful, just meter the battery to see if it is putting ~14 to 14.5 volts? It should be in the area of ~12 with no load if I remember...

Mine is broken also. I can't speak on if it is from misuse, as I got the blazer with it already broken. I have a vice grip on it, and that works fine. I don't really keep it on there all the time,...

I have the opposite problem in my Astro (well, somewhat opposite). When I use the turn signal, either left or right, it doesn't blink. It just stays solid. Not sure if this is related to the same...

I forgot one, I had a 89 Mustang GT for a short time. Was a bit of a brute but it sounded pretty damn good with flowmaster exhaust.

I am not 100% sure on the year of the car now, I think it was an 84. Anyway a Subaru GL-10. That car did 0-60 in about a week. Then a step up to a 86 Corolla Hatchback. Next was a 87 Supra Turbo....
