89 + 94 4X4 problems

I have a 1989 and a 1994 s-10 blazer and neither of the 4by works I am parting out the 89 soon stripping it down to the frame for spare parts on the 94 but I need to know some of the common problems...

I had the same problem with my old blazer and I had to shave the grounding point then it ran fine...
