Check the throttle body and idler, mine is doing the same thing. Except the idler screw (and I think there is an "O" ring in there?) is worn out and broken.

I know my Blazer is a 96 with about 176,300+ miles and the alternator is runnin 14+ volts. If the wiring wasn't specifically made for the the type of Blazer you have, it could be causing the problem....
