It's always been the purge valve solenoid on mine. located in rear by the gas tank. I take mine off, take it apart and blow compressed air to clean dust, and dirt out of it. Works every time for me

My 04 blazer dropped from 19 to 14 mpg. Discovered the rear calipers were rusted up and the brakes were dragging. Repaired--bank to 18-19mpg.
