Leaky intake manifold symptoms?

Hi all!

'95 4x4, Vortec V-6.

If I had a leaky intake manifold, what symptoms would I be noticing? How would I go about positively diagnosing it?

Conducted the suggested test with the voltmeter, as well as some suggested by my Chilton manual. Results led me to believe alternator was toast.

R/R'd the alternator with a remanned one ($119)....

Charging system light just came on this morning when I started the truck. It's the "idiot light" on the left side of the dash that lights up red in the shape...

The valve looks like it may be a bit tough to get to.....any special advice or tips there?

Trying to remove door panels to work on rear spearkers that aren't working.

I asked our local Chev. dealer the same question, for my '95 4wd.

The response was that capacity is about 4500 lbs of trailer weight. Recommended adding a tranny cooler for my Auto tranny....

That's along the lines I was thinking, although I wouldn't have thought of the resistor treatment. I appreciate the confirmation.

Where are you noticing the leak? As puddles on the garage floor? Inside the cabin? Where?

Multifunction switch at fault.

$400.00 for the part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not notice any antifreeze smell, and the carpet on the shotgun side is dry, no coolant loss in radiator as far as I can tell.
