Another heater core thread

My 95 Jimmy is leaking antifreeze onto the passenger side floor.
I'm guessing heater core since my heat is weak and I can smell it inside.
My guestion is can I just hack at the firewall to access...

Today I installed new wheel bearing hubs and new KYB shocks all around. I gotta say 43 degree is not as warm as it sounds when you have to work on your car outdoors.

Just got my second truck a 95 Jimmy the first was a 88 blazer that I never should have gave away. I've read a lot of good stuff here so far can't wait for the weather to get better so I can work on...
