Im not sure if the dampner slipped. I took the valve cover off, is there a way to tell if the #1 cylinder is at tdc by looking at the rocker arms?

Thanks for the help. Its dark here and im done for the day. I will try again tomorrow after work. Im guessing its the timing chain. Is there a way to check if the vibration dampener slipped?

i had it installed with marks lined up and it would not run. I them pulled dizzy turned crank until the marks lined up again reinstalled dizzy and still no start. Did i do that right?

Its a 2001 with 200000 plus miles. The crank moved approxmently 3/4 of on inch before the rotor moved. I guess about 10 degrees.
