You didn't have to run a ground wire from the antenna mount to the body?
I put mine on the spare tire carrier and had to run a ground wire. I Just couldn't get a good ground mounting it there.

When you shut the glass portion it doesn't latch and you can just pull it open? Or it latches but you can turn the latch and open the glass...

Are you talking about a First Gen or Second Gen. If a first gen then it is technically locked when closed, you cannot turn the latch to open the glass hatch without the key.
