Is it leaking where the water pump bolts to the block, or above the timing cover(near the thermostat housing)? If its where the water pump bolts to the block then your seals are probably bad....

I couldn't tell you about the differences between them, but I used the felpro set on my lower intake a couple of years ago. Probley got at least 30,000 miles on since. No leaks yet.
