The windshield on my 04 has 7-8 chips, crack lines not enough to reflect or obscure vision but bad. My muffler is 98% shot. The 97 windshield is perfect, 2 month old muffler, good tires and wheels....

As far as replacing the spider, can't I remove the intake and reconnect just the fuel lines amd turn the key to accessory. Wouldn't that show a leak anywhere in the spider asnd regulator assembly?
