Is the a/c buttom supposed to illuminate??

On the hvac controls at night time all the buttons at the bottom are lit up, the fresh air, the recirculate air, the defroster, but the a/c button doesn't light up (the little light in the corner...

RE: Help me pick a midbass driver...

Of those choices I'd have to go with the Daytons. Even if they handle only 50w there is nothing wrong with giving them 100w (anymore is over kill imo). I'm actually planning on a 2 way Dayton...

RE: AMP HELP

Speaker wire. There are charts and calculators on the web that tell how much signal loss with what gauge wire you use. I'm guessing 12 gauge should be good but look on those charts to be sure.

RE: Help me pick a midbass driver...

I didn't see that you had other mid ranges to fill the gap between midbass and tweet. 150w is fine for two 6.5s it's just a lot of people would run 150+ to a single good driver instead of two. I...

RE: Help me pick a midbass driver...

1)You can run two 4 ohm drivers in parallel on one amp but at two ohms that's only 150 for the pair.

2) You want to bandpass between 70-80hz and 200hz wtf?? I don't get why they would be mono,...

Tweeter Placement in '98 for Best Imaging/Soundstage

Where have you guys placed your tweeters for best sq? I want to get a 6.5 comp set and I'm putting the woofer in the stock location, and I want to know where others have had good success in tweeter...

RE: anythign better then...

Don't put speakers in the rear or in the dash. I would put a decent 2 way component set in the front doors and run them off an amp and put the subs in the back, although I would go with something...

RE: Why dont they make a lift...

Maybe a kit could include upper and lower control arms, axles, and torsion bars designed to be lifted. Seems that would be better than a $2000 kit that just drops the suspension.

RE: Why dont they make a lift...

Why would you lower your diff when what I said earlier can do the same thing but you can keep your diff outta harms way?

Why dont they make a lift...

That has longer top and bottom control arms and longer axle shafts, so tweaking the torsion bars wouldn't kill the cv angles and you would get a wider stance??

RE: Steering Wheel Play

I would get someone to turn the wheel for you while you get under the car and check the tie rod ends, pitman arm and I think Blazers have a rag joint too.

RE: DIY shocks replacement difficulty

The bolts are 18mm fyi. To put the fronts in I found the easiest way was compressing the shock and shoving it in between the upper control arm and frame. What brand shocks u using?

Does anyone know the capacities as well for the diffs/trans case. I don't have autotrack so I'm thinking Mobil 1 ATF.

RE: Can Someone Measure There Jounce Bumber (Bump Stop) for Me?

Yea, I guess the OE GM is designed to compress and is softer/hollow. I'm afraid that the poly ones will just slam. I figure I'll trim it until it stops the suspension right before the shock does.

RE: Can Someone Measure There Jounce Bumber (Bump Stop) for Me?

I figured that it would help with the spring rate because I know that on a lot of Chevys that the bump stop is actually touching the control arm. This would mean there would either be no upward...

I just got a '98 Blazer and the 4 wheel drive did not work. Thanks to these forums I traced the problem to the vacuum switch on the transfer case and I thought I was ready to go...
