Well, I guess here's the thing I've replaced almost every part of the steering assembly now, and two shops have said its fine, which is why I'm thinking it's probably the control arms.

The steering feels tight, more like you can feel it in the floor/body. I only did ball joints on one side, the driver side. The mechanics that have looked at it think the ball joints are okay, though...

I saw a video on youtube, of a guy fixing his hood? He says that it makes a popping sound because the bolts are defective, and there's nothing wrong with the front end. Anyone else ever heard of that?

Hmm, well I think I'm going to try replacing the ball joints first, as they were only $10 each. If that doesn't fix it I guess I'll do all of the control arms. But the question is: is it safe to wait...

Well I just had it in the shop, one shop said he figured everything was tight, then it had an alignment last week and there were no problems, so I'll check the CV joint. I'm pretty sure it's good...
