I would say that is a u joint. I had the same problem with my Toyota Pick Up and it was the rear u joint. They are not that expensive, the one for my Toyota was $7.99. If you get under the truck...

I just wanted to say thanks to Blazergirl15. I pulled of the EGR valve and cleaned everything out and put it back together and now it idles fine. Thanks so much for you input. DED

I have a 94 too, and I take air cleaner box out to get to the oil filter. I takes about 3 minutes to get the air cleaner out, then there is plenty of room to get to it. Just be very careful lifting...
