They are supposed to wear worse if you drive on gravel A LOT. Occasional driving on gravel should not be a problem. On highway they are supposed to wear better because of their greater flexability....

Some shops won't sipe a tire if it is not brand new. Liability reasons. If you can find a shop to do it I would. If there is any snow packed or icey roads you should test your braking distances...

Could not agree more. If you beef up spring load on one side only you are asking for major problems. Driveability issues, and wear and tear to other components. NOT a good idea. Go all or nothing.

Possibly head lamp relay going out. It may be over heating til it shuts down. When it cools they come back on. Try to find a "like" relay and switch them. See what happens.

thanks for the info, the lights do light up on ;the switch and you can hear a clunk when four low engages so I know the transfer case motor is doing its job so i will start w/ the vacuum actuator...

You might try some Lucas Oil Stabilizer. The synthetic formula is about the same consistancy as 5w30. Lucas makes some GREAT products. Their fuel injector cleaner is awesome.
