I'm just looking for more power and better gas mileage.

I've read that the 4.3 TBI will bolt up and the ECU will handle it fine, has anyone done this and noticed any noticeable gains?

Can it be done? I read somewhere that someone had done it, wasn't on this forum though.

I had basically the same problem, turned out to be my MAP sensor. Try replacing it.

A lot of guys on here told me to check fuel pressure etc but that wasn't the problem.

Takes a while to start and sputters till warm

Hey, I have a 1988 Chevy Blazer 2.8 FI.

I just replaced the plugs and wires and the o2 sensor.

It takes a while for the engine to start up, maybe about 10 cranks each about 5-6 seconds long.

I replaced my starter last week.

The 2 bigger wires (ground) go on the center of the starter which should have the biggest nut.

And the smaller one goes on the solenoid for power.

Me personally am not the original owner of my 88" Blazer but my family is. My uncle knew a guy (forget his postion) who worked for a Chev dealer. Aperantly he had tones of cars and bearly drove this...
