Mine started leaking. There is a little hole on the front part of it that leaks coolant once the seals get bad. That was the only symptom I got from mine when it went bad.

Could moisture be a factor? I had a similar problem with my 96 whenever it rained. I had spark fuel compression, but the timing seemed to be off 180. when I dried it all out, it started right up.
