I heard that the ECM on these is prone to failure. Try diagnosing it at the relays. If the injectors aren't firing that would be a sign to a bad ECM in my mind.

I wouldn't switch to a carb over...

That would explain the lower speed, and high revs. D'OH!

My '88 with a TH350 has this problem as well. Very frustrating, since mine nearly dies at stoplights if left in drive.

Well that would make sense, I didn't realize that the TH350 was a 3speed. Here's a picture of the pan, which was how I arrived that it was a TH350. Then what would explain the noise at 45?

TH350 Not shifting into 4th and high Engine load at idle

Hi all,

New to the forum, and the world of K5 blazers since the weekend. Just picked one up. I'm not sure of the year possibly a '88, the previous owner did swap out the TBI for a carbureted crate...
