The buttons on the dash are not the things that burned up, it was the transfer case control module on the passenger sids footwell. The printed circuit board is all charred.

I found a broken wire touching the metal seat track under the passenger seat. It was one of the orange ones coming from the main harness.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to carefully flush out the heater core. I will ask the owner about the Prestone I really hope that is not the case.

I tried unhooking the battery for 30 minutes after installing the encoder motor, nothing changed. I installed a different tccm from a different blazer that was working but it didn't work on mine....
