anybody no a good exhaust system that will give a little power and sound? i have a gutted cat and was wondering if a katback was a good system

i have a 91 s10 blazer with a 4.3 and my intake has the pipe to the front grille and i was wondering if i take the pipe off and put the k&n fipk on will it make the truck run hot. my dad says it will...
