I'm not sure what harness it was. It was for 04 model year though and the orange illum wire or speed sensor wire is the only one I didn't hook up.

I believe the orange wire is the speed sensor wire. I have an 03 and installed an aftermarket radio as well but didn't end up wiring it in.

Being a 4x4, it will be a tough job getting all of those components in. I have heard of 2wd blazers swap a v8 in but not many 4x4's. Not saying it can't be done but I do believe custom headers...

No I didn't have the cd changer on mine. Its was just the rds radio single disc. Not sure about the speakers but that sounds right, there were only four positive speaker wires in my harness.

Try replacing the oil pressure sensor. My 03 did a similar thing when at idle but when rpm came up the pressure came up. It could be clogged.

That 94 looks cool, but keep your ZR2 and shop around for transmission prices. You can also check wrecking yards or Craigslist for used transmission for cheaper.

Go for it. There is quite a bit of aftermarket for it. It can get decent mileage if you keep your foot out of it. I would love to have another ls car/truck right now but $$$ is tight.
