I looked underneath to check and see if the lower ball joint was failing, and instead found it broken.

I put in in the air on my break, and shook the wheel @ 9 & 3 and 6 & 12, no resistance. it shook a lot both ways. as for the grinding noise I heard it but it was low because I couldn't spin the wheel...

In my 2001 blazer lt, i noticed a used tire dealer put on a 235/70/15 instead of the 235/75/15 on my front passenger side and after changing the tire after a week, there was a scraping/grinding noise...
