CPI Conversion

CPI Conversion

I have a 93 4.3 CPI engine. Have heard that I could use a Intake from a 85 4.3 that is carbureted. Was wondering if this will work with the CPI heads?

Bought the car and replaced the engine with a rebuilt one.
It runs great. However, when I turn the key on all I get is the battery, seatbelt and brake light, no check engine...

The new intake manifold gaskets Ibought does not have the rear ports blocked off like the old ones do.Willthey work ok?

I have the same problem as you--in fact I could not describe it better. I posted on a different forum with no luck. I pulled mine because I had to pull the pass side head for a bad valve....

1985 S10 Blazer
2.5 Standard trans.
4,000 miles on rebuilt engine

Engine starts up fine, at 1st at higher RPMs as normal
Shortly later it idles down
Takes off OK as you shift to 3rd...

Have 85 S-10 W 2.5. Engine has about 3,000 miles on it after a rebuild. The air filter is being plugged by oil.[/align]I checked the PVC valve, its good. The valve cover does have a baffle in it....
