Same problem here...took the line off the nozzle, no motor, no nothing. My rear washer sprays just fine. Where is the pump for the front?

1996 LT AWD Transfer Case

How do I know what transfer case I need to replace the one I have now? I'm getting ridiculous replacement numbers for rebuilt...$1600. I just want to find a used transfer case.

I'll have my mechanic look at that...could be a possibility, although the "clunks" can be several, as I accelerate. Any "mounts" would be a single "clunk". Aw, who the H know's...it's 15 years old....

I've never really gunned it in reverse, so I don't know. But it doesn't seem to be a CV...not a continuous clicking like I've heard before on other vehicles. Makes no difference if the wheel is...

If I get on the gas from a stop, it will be a continuous clunking from the front. If I REALLY take it easy, it won't do it...almost like the front tires are pulling harder than the back ones are...

Hard "Clunk" from Front end

My 96 Blazer LT has a serious hard clunk when accelerating from a stop. It used to only do it when I really stepped on it. Now, even a nice easy start from a stop will cause it. It will do it when...

Still no idea what's going on with those brakes...I saw another thread where a bad bearing may have the tire not "running true" to the rest of the vehicle...wonder if that could be the cause...or a...

ONLY when braking...I know what a rock or a screw sounds like in my tread...took a rock out tonight when I got home, actually...glad it wasn't a screw. Like I said, it happens when I engage the...

Rear Brake clicking

1996 Blazer LT, just had new brakes all around, rotors and pads, drums and shoes. Now, when braking fairly hard from about 30 mph, I hear a "double clicking" from the rear brakes...almost sounds...

RE: Column Shift or Ground Shift???

I'd rather have a floor shifter. We have lots of hills in town, and it's not handy to be shifting out of O/D into D when going downhill, to save on the brakes.

But, I do like my cupholders on...

RE: Luggage Rack Removal

Thanks for the idea. I'll try the second idea. I just don't want water getting in there.

You're talking silicone caulking, right?

RE: a/c pump

I'm curious as to what they charged you. My a/c is not cold. I don't know yet if it cycles on and off or not. Just noticed it the other day when it was 80 degrees out...

Thanks.

RE: Luggage Rack Removal

I was just wondering if anyone made little plastic covers that would be screwed on over the existing attachment points after the rack is removed. I really don't want blobs of silicone left up there....

Bulletins for 96 Blazer

Luggage Rack Removal

Just wondering if anyone has taken theirs off. Does GM (or anyone else for that matter) make any kind of covers to go over the attachment points on the roof?

RE: Serpentine Belt Change??

I just got in from changing my belt. Yeah, it was the easiest belt I've ever changed! I've driven Toyota's and Nissan's...they're not fun! Very simple!

I have to get under my 96 LT and look at ALL the bushings. These little cracks in the roads around here make it feel like something is just loose...someone said it could be the mounting bolts on the...

Smelly Heater?

I'm having a VERY strong hot plastic smell from my heater in my 96 Blazer LT. Any ideas? I'm thinking it comes from the lower blower area.

RE: Roar that goes away in 4WD

My old Toyota pickup used to do that too. Seemed to be coming from the wheel area, not the transfer case. It did it more frequently when it was colder out. Never figured out what it was...

The guy I bought my 96 Blazer LT from mentioned he had replaced the shocks within the past year. He did all of his maintenance work himself. Seemed pretty knowledgable about everything.

I've...

RE: All-Time 4WD on 1996 Blazer?

I posted a few weeks back, after buying a '96 LT. I too, have the NP3 code. Now that there's snow on the ground, I can tell that it's definitely all time 4WD. I can't feel anything "kick in" but...

What's odd about that, jarring it in any form, either from the road bumps, door slams, or just plain smacking it (which i hate to do, but would love to sometimes) has no effect on the radio...
