i figured out what was wrong today. the housing around the compressor is cracked and that is why it is leaking, so i needed to change the compressor anyway.

unless you havent changed your oil in thousands upon thousands of miles then there is no need to take it out and clean it.

mine was doing the same thing. if you get under it, look real close. mine was leaking from the intake gasket in the back of the motor and i had to get in real close to see any leak, but it was there....
