I had the same problem last week with my '85. Upon further investigation I figured out the air filter was completely black! :icon_doh: Apparently the guy I just bought it from forgot you need fuel...

So the other night I turned on my head lights and bam no instrument cluster lights.. Then a couple headlight turn ons later and they worked. Then they didn't work, then they worked.. So sometimes...

I recently bought an 85 2.8L and this is the first carbureted engine I've worked with so it's fairly foreign to me..

She starts everytime, I usually just have to crank it for 5-10 seconds then...
