Any tricks to installing CV axle in a 2000 Blazer 4x4?

I replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends, but the bungee cord that I had supporting the axle broke, causing the cv axle to slip off the inside boot and left the inner casing attached to the shaft....

Gas mileage is the same. Fuel gauge issue is fuel pump, but the new one worked for 2 weeks. Hard starts are over, and that was the main thing.

Just replaced the Spider Injector, Fuel pump, and fuel filter on 2000 Blazer 4x4

I replaced the fuel pump (186,000 miles) not because it stopped working, but because the fuel gauge didn't work. Problem solved.
Fuel filter replacement at the same time.
