if you disconnect the subs and the amp doesn't do it anymore, then you know you have too low of an impedance connected to the amp. Meaning that the amp can't handle a two ohm load.

I use the MTX TA3404 (http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/thunder3404.cfm) in my truck for all my door speakers. Works like wonders, really clean and efficient. It's 50Wrms x 4 at 4 ohms....
