Looked at it tonight, the rotors seem okay and the pads look good. I'm just plain lost.

Going to have to get it in. Good thing we have a mechanic that I mostly trust.

Could be pieces of the intake gasket, but I don't know how likely that would be. I guess if you're losing that much water it may be more likely than not.

There's no water in the oil/elsewhere?

Yeah, that all hit me at once. I guess I was too worried about other things to look at the obvious. I messed with it in 4WD for less than 50 feet so it should be fine.
