WONT SWITCH OUT OF 2HI

I have a 2000 LT 4x4. When I push the 4 HI or Auto 4x4 buttons, they just flash. Nothing engages, and the 2HI doesn't disengage. I have heard it may be a solenoid problem, if so, how much would I be...

Thanks for the info. For the time being, is there any way that I can simply disable the alarm? A fuse or something I can do to shut it off?
